Adult Small Groups

Through Sunday morning Bible study groups, we inspire people to follow Jesus and actively participate in fulfilling the Great Commission in practical and meaningful ways.

We encourage all adults to get plugged into a small group Bible study at Trinity as soon as possible. Through our Sunday morning Bible study classes, every person who comes to Trinity is provided an opportunity to build key relationships that can last a lifetime. Groups are for everyone, no matter where you are in your faith journey. Regular participation in Bible study, prayer, and fellowship with other believers is essential for spiritual growth.

Through groups, we inspire people to follow Jesus and actively participate in fulfilling the Great Commission in practical and meaningful ways. Please feel free to visit one of our Sunday morning classes beginning at 9:30 am.

Fellowship of the King Class

Teacher | Chris McDonald
Ages | 20s to 40s

Fellowship of the King class is led by our minister of music, Chris McDonald, and is made up of singles and married couples in their 20s, 30s, and 40s. We typically work through entire books of the Bible with no study guides, but occasionally do spend 1 to 4 weeks on topics of interest/need. Many in our class teach and serve elsewhere on Sundays, so some weeks we have nearly 30, some only 8-10.

The Open Door Class is a great group of people who enjoy discussion and digging into God’s Word. We study various books of the Bible in a verse-by-verse format. Over the past 4 years, we have studied Matthew, Malachi, James, and 1 Peter. A variety of ages make up our class of mostly couples from their forties to their seventies.

Challengers Class

Teachers | Marjorie Rutledge & Mike Lampkins

Room | Downstairs W102

We are the Connoisseurs. We use Lifeway’s Explore the Bible as our study guide along with our Bible’s. We use open discussions and all are encouraged to join in. Our ages are between 60 to 90.

What does the bible say about our daily living? How do we apply our teaching on Sunday to how we

live next week? We use God’s Word as our guide. We draw on God’s resources. We teach Christ and Christ alone. We are his handiwork.

The Pathfinders class is mostly married couples in their 40’s, 50s, and 60’s. We are blessed with four teachers, each with his or her own unique teaching style, and we rotate each week. We devote the first few minutes of the class time to sharing praises and prayer needs. We enjoy interactive discussions, and use the Bible Studies For Life curriculum. Explorers Class

Teacher | Ward Hilemon
Ages | 70s to 90s
Room | Upstairs E201

The Explorers Class, led by Ward and Carole Hilemon, is a cherished community of senior adults, all 80 years of age and older. While our class roll is large, many of our members are shut-ins or devoted caregivers, which means our weekly attendance varies from as many as 10 to as few as 2. Regardless of the number, we gather faithfully to study God’s Word, encourage one another, and grow together in faith.

Our primary resource for study is the Sunday School quarterly, which helps guide our discussions and deepen our understanding of Scripture. Whether in person or in spirit, every member of the Explorers Class is valued and loved as part of our church family.

Disciples of Christ Class

Teachers | Gerry Clarkson & Jerry Brewer
Ages | 20s to 60s
Room | Upstairs W207

Being led by the Holy Spirit, the Disciples of Christ are doing just that, making Disciples in accordance to God’s Holy Word. Our doors are open to anyone and cover a wide range of ages. Bible Studies for Life is our text, but emphasis is placed on each class participant’s sharing the impact and application each lesson brings. First Sunday Fellowship includes classmates bringing and sharing their favorite breakfast treats.

Friendship Class

Teachers | Susan Braswell & Pam Miller
Ages | 60s to 80s
Room | Downstairs W101

We are a discussion led class – learning from each other.  Each Sunday a different member takes the role of teacher/facilitator for the lesson that day.  We are currently using the Sunday School Quarterly – but we have used various studies in the past – ranging from videos, special topics, study guides and books. Our class is composed of singles and marrieds.  We have around 28 active members of various ages.

Lively Ladies Class

Teacher | Nancy Davidhizar
Ages | 70s to 90s (Women Only)
Room | Downstairs W104

Join a warm and welcoming group of 15 to 23 women each Sunday as we come together to grow in faith and fellowship. We’re excited to begin a new study on the book of Psalms—a powerful and poetic collection that speaks to every season of the soul. Guided by the Baptist Quarterly and supplemented with additional resources, we’ll dive deep into the Psalms to better understand God’s Word and how it speaks to our lives today. Whether you’re new to Bible study or have been walking in the Word for years, there’s a place for you here.
